Quiet Backyard Living

Meet the Crew

The real people, places, projects, setbacks, and peaceful little moments behind Quiet Backyard Living.

Hello, I'm Chippy

Hello, I'm Chippy

I'm the playful little helper around here, always peeking into projects, following the garden paths, and keeping an eye on the birds and backyard critters. I add a little charm, a little curiosity, and just enough mischief to keep things fun.

I help guide people through the builds, the wildlife ideas, and the peaceful outdoor moments that make this site feel alive.

Meet Jeff

Jeff is the heart behind Quiet Backyard Living. He loves nature, gardening, peaceful outdoor spaces, and finding simple ways to make a backyard feel more welcoming to birds, pollinators, and friendly little wildlife.

But this site is not just about pretty backyard pictures or tidy finished projects. It is also about setbacks, stress, trying again, and finding a little peace in the middle of real life. Some seasons go badly. Some builds fight back. Some ideas only matter because they came after something failed.

He is building this site from real life, real projects, real planting, and real time spent outdoors, both at home and at the cabin. The goal is to share ideas that feel useful, honest, and enjoyable, not fussy or overcomplicated, and to leave room for the part most polished sites skip, what it looked like to get knocked down and get back up.

Meet Vanessa

Vanessa is a loving and caring nurse and has been married to Jeff for 34 years. She loves the peaceful cabin, growing flowers and vegetables, and the kind of quiet outdoor moments that make a place feel like home.

She has a special soft spot for Harry the hummingbird and all the sweet little critters that show up along the way. Vanessa tends to stay behind the scenes, but she is a big part of the heart of Quiet Backyard Living, always helping, encouraging, and adding beauty, care, and calm to the life we’re building together here.
